# Privacy Policy — The_9th_Meal / ninemealsfromanarchy.com

*This policy covers your account and personal data. It is separate from the Contributor Terms applicable for 'Authors', which cover published content specifically.* ## What We Collect When you create an account, we collect your email address, a password (stored securely, never in plain text), and whatever you choose to add to your profile (callsign/display name, bio, skills, avatar). If you participate in the Forum, we store your posts, replies, and voluntary check-ins. We also store basic technical data needed to run the site securely — sign-up IP address (used only for spam/abuse rate-limiting), session tokens, and your theme preference (day/night mode). ## What We Don't Collect We do not ask for or store your real name, home address, phone number, precise location, or any information about your personal supplies, security arrangements, or living situation. If you choose to include this kind of information voluntarily in a free-text field (like your profile bio), that's your choice, but we don't require or request it. Matter of fact we strongly discourage it. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. The only data stored in your browser is what's strictly necessary for the site to function: your login session, and your appearance preference. ## Why We Collect It - Email: to let you log in, verify your account, and receive password resets or (if you subscribe) the newsletter. - Profile fields: to power the Member Directory and Forum, so other members can see who they're talking to. - Sign-up IP: solely to prevent spam account creation (a temporary, narrow use — it is not used to track your activity or location beyond initial sign-up). - Published content: because you chose to publish it, under the separate Contributor Terms only relevant for 'Authors'. ## Who Can See What Your email address is never shown to other members or the public. Your callsign/display name, and whatever you add to Skills, Can Help With, Looking For, and your bio, are visible to other logged-in members via the Forum and Member Directory. Published Dispatches show your author byline publicly, as intended. Administrators can see account-level information (email, role, moderation status) as needed to run and moderate the site. ## Your Rights You can: - **Access your data**: request a copy of your account and profile data at any time via Control Room → Settings → Account, or by contacting us. - **Delete your account**: you can delete your own account at any time via Control Room → Settings → Account. Deleting your account removes your personal profile and community data. If you have 'Author' status then content you've published as an Author is preserved (attributed to a "Deleted User" placeholder) so that other people's discussions and the site's archive remain intact — this mirrors how a print publication wouldn't erase a printed article just because the author later asked to be delisted from a phone book. - **Correct your data**: you can edit your profile fields at any time. If you're in the EU/EEA, these rights are protected under GDPR, and we aim to honor them promptly whether requested through the site's self-service tools or by contacting us directly. If you are outside these regulations we claim to honor your absolute right to privacy regardless. ## Data Retention & Storage Your account and profile data, published content, and forum activity are stored on Lovable's cloud infrastructure, which is SOC 2 Type I and Type II compliant and ISO 27001:2022 certified — enterprise-grade, independently audited security standards. We retain the absolute minimum of your data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after deletion as required for security logs (our own audit trail), after which it is removed. ## Changes to This Policy We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be noted here with an updated date. *Last updated: 20sept 2026
